While free clothes and Schoola.com may not directly involve family fitness, it was worth the share for 2 very important reasons. The first being, Schoola is an online consignment store of sorts, with thousands of clothing items which have all been donated by various giving individuals. When these clothes are purchases by us, the buying public, every $5 spent, $2 goes towards supporting school programs like physical fitness, music and art. If it helps to keep physical education in schools, then we at House of Fit are all for it. The second reason I am a supporter goes back to the very essence of the blog. By living healthy, we try to leave a lesser footprint on Earth, be it by using non-toxic cleaners, walking or biking instead of driving, or in this case, recycling! What better way to up-cycling then by turning someone else’s donation, into your own treasure.
With my $15 credit and free shipping, I picked up three pretty rocking tops for my five year old. Some serious bonus points from him for scoring a Star Wars tee! But, after further research, I found they actually have adult sizes as well. I went browsing through the “high schoola” sizes, which range from XS – XXL and picked out two tops for me, both at a fraction of the original price. You can sort clothing based on quality, brand, color or size - many of items still include the tags.
You will probably need to clean out your closet to make room for those new duds you just picked up. How about donating your gently-used clothing that you haven't worn for years? Go to their site, find a school you'd like to support and request a donation bag with a pre-paid postage stamp. Easy.
So what are you waiting for? Go on! Get shopping already! Use this link to get your $15 credit, shift through the easy-to-use website and score your child or yourself something for nothing!
